This class is for the intermediate artist or a student who has completed our Introduction to Stained Glass Class. With the guidance of an experienced instructor with over 30 years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques. We focus on the Tiffany technique to allow more intricacy and design freedom than other methods.
What to expect: Students will make a choice from 6 large designs (up to 16" X 18”) provided by the studio. Please make arrangements to make your own glass selection 24 hours or more before the first class. You'll be tutored in more advanced stained glass methods. The materials fee includes copies, transparencies, glass, copper foil, solder, flux, patina, KwikClean liquid and wax.
Next level: Takes you beyond the Introductory To Stained Glass Class.
• Soldering review • Free form edge tinning
• Copper wire overlays • Repairing cracked/broken pieces
• Framing with zinc/lead • Making your own hooks/using handy
Stained glass tutoring workshops are typically shorter, intensive sessions that focus on a specific aspect of stained glass making or a particular project. Unlike conventional tutoring, which may be offered over several weeks or months, tutoring workshops are usually completed in a day or a few days.
Stained glass tutoring workshops may cover a range of topics, such as glass cutting techniques, soldering, foiling, leading, and pattern making.
They may also focus on creating a specific type of stained glass piece, such as a sun catcher, a lampshade, or a window panel.
Our tutoring workshops are taught by experienced stained glass artists and instructors who provide fun, hands-on instruction and guidance.
